The Michael J. Fox Foundation Now a Registered Charity in Canada
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research is now a registered, tax-exempt charity in Canada. As the birth country of Michael J. Fox, Canada is home to many of his devoted supporters who are eager to help efforts to cure Parkinson’s disease. Since the inception of our Foundation, these supporters have known no boundaries in their dedication to our cause.
With the tremendous momentum of our friends in Canada, MJFF’s new charity registration gives us the exciting opportunity to get to know more Canadians who are dedicated to advancing Parkinson’s research. Our grassroots community fundraising initiative, Team Fox, will be ramping up its efforts in Canada, with many wonderful Team Fox events to follow.
MJFF will be formally marking its official launch with a day-long celebration in Toronto on September 24, 2009 in association with the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Toronto’s Western Hospital, part of the University Health Network. The day will begin with one of MJFF’s signature Research Roundtables, a free symposium to share MJFF’s investment philosophy and highlights from our research investment portfolio. A ticketed gala fundraiser will follow that evening.
