Read an In-depth Interview with Raymond T. Bartus, PhD, of Ceregene, Inc., on the Outcomes of the CERE-120 Clinical Trial

Last November the worldwide Parkinson’s community learned the disappointing news that Ceregene, Inc.’s Phase 2 clinical trial of CERE-120 (the company’s gene therapy approach to deliver trophic factor neurturin to the brains of Parkinson’s patients) failed to show a difference between treatment and placebo.

To help patients interpret this news and its relevance to their own PD and treatment, as well as implications for future research, The Michael J. Fox Foundation — which invested a total of $2.6 million in the Phase 1 and 2 trials of CERE-120 — spoke to Raymond T. Bartus, PhD, executive vice president and chief scientific officer of Ceregene.

Read our in-depth interview with Dr. Bartus for detailed information on what the trial data did, and did not, reveal — and what these results mean for ongoing research efforts to find the cure.
