The first FOX Sports Supports campaign was launched in 2008 to increase awareness and raise funds for worthy health-related charities. After a highly successful inaugural year working with Autism Speaks, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Health Fund and the Alzheimer’s Association, the program returns for a second campaign with four new inspiring organizations.

Earlier this year, FOX Sports employees voted to determine which nonprofits the company would support in 2009. Each charity was assigned to one of the four major sports properties FOX currently broadcasts. This year’s FOX Sports Supports charities are: 

· MLB - The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

· NASCAR - Susan G. Komen For The Cure

· NFL - City of Hope 

· BCS - Malaria No More 

"FOX Sports Supports made a tremendous impact in its first year and we felt it was very important to continue despite a troubled economy," said Bill Wanger, Senior Vice President of Research and Programming, FOX Sports and co-founder of the FOX Sports Supports initiative. "Using our resources to help raise awareness was extremely gratifying for everyone within our organization."

FOX Sports Supports hopes to improve the quality of life for millions in need by using the networks’ sports properties to create awareness through pre-game and/or in-game mentions, both verbal and graphic. The network also airs public service announcements, which are produced in-house and are designed to inform, educate and solicit support from the Fox Sports audience.

Last year, FOX Sports Supports helped generate 1.4 million Web site visits for the four charities selected – up 68% from the combined yearly average. Web traffic and donations for each charity spiked during FOX Sports broadcast windows.
