This summer, Team Human Powered Potential (HPP) — a group of four men, including one living with Parkinson’s disease — inspired our community to meet our most ambitious fundraising goal yet: $41 million in honor of the team’s 41 days at sea.
The goal was inspired by an anonymous donor, who offered a historic 3:1 match for every donation made in support of the team. The Michael J. Fox Foundation is deeply grateful for this unprecedented match, which significantly amplified the impact of every gift. We also salute the thousands of individuals worldwide who pledged their support both through financial contributions as well as by cheering on the rowers throughout their epic journey.
Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of people with Parkinson’s, and we are closer than ever to finding a cure.

Meet the Rowers
On June 8, Team Human Powered Potential — Patrick Morrissey, Brendan Cusick, Peter Durso and Scott Forman — embarked on a journey from Monterey, California to Kauai, Hawaii to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's research. The team, including one member living with Parkinson's (Patrick), rowed 24 hours a day — in intervals of two hours on, two hours off — for a total of 41 days, reaching their destination on July 19.
Their 2,800-mile journey inspired our Summer Challenge and surpassed $41 million in funds raised.
