The Michael J. Fox Foundation mourns the passing of former Foundation Board member Edwin A. Levy. He died on May 28, 2021, at age 84.
Edwin A. Levy joined the Board of Directors of The Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2002. In 1979, he co-founded Levy, Harkins & Co., Inc., an investment advisory firm, where he served as chairman of the board. During the 20 years prior to that, he worked at Bear, Stearns & Co., becoming a general partner in 1971.
Mr. Levy served on the Boards of Directors of Coastcast Corp., Traffix Inc., and Bear Stearns Financial Products. He was also a Board Member of World Point Terminals and FutureFuel, and was active in philanthropic work, having served on the board of the National Parkinson Foundation and Continuum Health Partners, a hospital-operating company that includes Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center.
Mr. Levy received his BA from Brown University. He and his late wife, Carolyne, had two children and three grandchildren.
