Community Fundraisers Break Records with $53 Million Raised in 2024

2024 by the numbers

Last year, our fundraising community redefined what’s possible and raised an extraordinary $53 million for The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), thanks to innovative DIY fundraisers, endurance challenges, both new and returning Foundation-led events and the generous support of an anonymous match donor.

So, how did they generate a historic $53 million in one year? Let’s look at some 2024 highlights.

2024 Peer-to-Peer Highlights

Milestones:

  • The four members of Team Human Powered Potential (HPP) successfully completed the World's Toughest Row in July, becoming the first four-man American team to complete the Pacific crossing. Additionally, Pat Morrissey became the first person with Parkinson's to row across the Pacific, and Team HPP became the top fundraiser by raising more than any other World’s Toughest Row individual team since its inception.

  • Five fundraisers — Moving for a Cure, Pinky’s Passion, Team Cul-de-Sac, The Ruptured Ducks and the Harmon family — celebrated their 15-year fundraising milestone.

  • One fundraiser — Birdies Fore Parkinson’s — celebrated their 10-year fundraising milestone.

  • For the first time, MJFF was the official charity partner of L.A. Comic Con.
