Katie Clark, veteran Team Fox marathoner, ran the 2013 Virgin London Marathon with 3 other Team Fox members last Sunday, April 21. Katie first started running for Team Fox in 2007 having no direct connection to Parkinson’s disease. Instead, it was Michael J. Fox's incredibly positive attitude in the face of his diagnosis that inspired her to join the team. She was even featured in a portion of the very first Team Fox video.
Katie shares that she’s been fortunate to meet and fundraise alongside many people living with Parkinson’s. “They are some of the brightest, funniest and most creative people I know. They are also COMPLETELY dedicated to finding a cure. This year's marathon is my contribution toward that goal.”
Katie started fundraising with her “Thanks-a-latte” program – asking friends and family to forgo a cup of coffee (or a latte) for one day and donate the $5 to Team Fox. She’s been able to raise nearly $12,000 for Team Fox. We're all asking – what marathon’s next?
Congrats to Katie, Glynn, Deborah and Wayne who all completed the marathon Sunday!
