New Team Fox member, Edward Cooning, has taken on a serious running fete: to run all 5 "Marathon Majors" in 2012. This includes Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and wraps up with New York. Each of the five races will be run for charity, with the London Marathon dedicated to Team Fox!
Cooning decided to start running in 2005 after losing his friend John Miller to aortic dissection at age 33, which was probably related to his Marfan Syndrome, an unusual genetic disorder of the connective tissue. Miller had been planning to run the 2006 Indy Mini with his wife, so Ed and a group of friends decided to run in remembrance of him. They formed a team called "Jonnie's Goodguys" which is now more than 30 strong.
Since heart related issues are close to Cooning, he has decided to run each of his five marathons this year for charities that are heart related - or have heart - and Team Fox has heart! Edward is determined to raise $5,000 for Team Fox, along with raising money for a variety of other national and local groups. Click here to read more about Ed's amazing story!
Team Fox is the grassroots fundraising arm of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF).
