The Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) is a landmark observational study designed to help define biomarkers – or indicators – of Parkinson’s disease (PD) progression. Hundreds of brave and dedicated participants have enrolled to participate in PPMI, and in doing so, committed themselves to an extensive battery of tests and assessments over a five-year period.
Many clinical trials face challenges not only in recruiting volunteers, but in keeping participants engaged in the study and dedicated to completing their involvement. Given the rigorous tests associated with participating in PPMI, this is especially true for the nearly 600 people currently enrolled. That’s where you come in: Help us honor and encourage PPMI participants all over the world who have stepped up and volunteered themselves to help speed a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
Write a letter of thanks to a PPMI participant today using this simple form. Letters will be compiled and presented to PPMI participants each time they visit their trial site for a medical visit. PPMI participants give so much to the PD community by participating in this study; let’s give them a small token of gratitude.
