Asha Kishore, MD, DM

Professor of Neurology at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology

Asha Kishore, MD, DM, earned her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in medicine from the Kerala University and trained in neurology at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), India. She did a two-year clinical research fellowship in movement disorders at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, supported by the National Parkinson Foundation and the Parkinson Foundation of Canada. She is currently professor of neurology and head of the Comprehensive Care Centre for Movement Disorders at SCTIMST. Her areas of research interest are genetics of Parkinson’s disease, invasive and non-invasive brain stimulation, and plasticity of motor networks in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia. She has published many scientific papers in these areas and is the principal investigator/co-principal investigator of research projects funded by national and international funding agencies.
