Cedric Bardy is an associate professor at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and Flinders University in Australia. Dr. Bardy is a neurobiologist with an international track-record in studying human neural stem-cell models using electrophysiology, imaging and transcriptomics. His research focuses on advancing stem cell biotechnologies to understand and cure neurological disorders. In particular, he is the inventor of BrainPhys, a medium broadly used to support the growth of isolated human neurons. His current research uses preclinical, patient-derived cell models to test innovative therapeutic strategies, with a current focus on Parkinson’s disease, childhood dementia and brain cancer. Dr. Bardy grew up in the South of France and obtained a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2008. He pursued postdoctoral training at the Pasteur Institute (2008-2010) and the Salk Institute (2011-2016). He currently leads the Laboratory for Human Neurophysiology and Genetics (www.bardylab.com).
