Cliff I. Stains, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) and an associate member of the Fred & Pamela Buffet Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Stains received his BS in chemistry from Millersville University in 2002. He obtained his PhD in chemistry in 2008 working under the supervision of Dr. Indraneel Ghosh at the University of Arizona and received an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein postdoctoral fellowship to conduct postdoctoral studies with Dr. Barbara Imperiali in the Department of Chemistry at MIT. In 2011 Dr. Stains joined the Department of Chemistry at UNL as an assistant professor and was appointed as an associate member of the Fred & Pamela Buffet Cancer Center in 2012. His laboratory is focused on the development and application of chemical tools to investigate disease-relevant processes, including signaling perturbations in Parkinson’s disease.
