Dafna Bonneh-Barkay received her B.A and Master's degrees in biology from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in 1993 and 1995 and a PhD degree in pharmacology in 2002. Her graduate research was done in collaboration with Teva pharmaceuticals industries Ltd. and focused on the characterization of the neuroprotective activity of rasagiline in cerebellar granule cells. Since fall 2000 she has worked as a project manager in the research and development department in Dexxon Ltd, Or-Akiva, Israel and currently serves as an independent consultant to the company. In spring 2003 she joined the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale, California as a postdoctoral research fellow. Her research interest includes the characterization of paraquat toxicity and synuclein's involvement in primary mesencephalic cultures.
