Enrique Santamaría earned a degree in Biochemistry (2001) and a PhD in Hepatology & Gene Therapy from the University of Navarra (Extraordinary Award in Biochemistry, 2005). During his postdoctoral stage, he was involved in a Sixth Framework EU project implementing proteogenomic strategies to improve the potency and safety of HSV-1 based-oncolytic vectors. As a complement of his scientific career, he completed a Master of Business Administration (2008). In 2011, he established the Clinical Neuroproteomics Unit at Navarrabiomed (IDISNA, Spain). He is actively working in the Human Brain Proteome Project, dealing with proteomic expression profiling, post-translational modifications and protein-protein interactions across neurological phenotypes. He has published more than 85 papers and edited two books about neuroproteomics. He has more than 15 years of experience in leading, mentoring and coaching scientists at all levels of education, being assistant professor in several National Biomedical Masters, directing 5 PhD thesis and multiple master degrees’ students.
