Dr. Augusto Barbieri is an associate professor at São Paulo State University (UNESP), where he heads the Human Movement Research Laboratory (MOVI-LAB) and coordinates the “ATIVA Parkinson,” a community project for multidisciplinary treatment for individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD). Dr. Barbieri specializes in neuromechanics (movement and cortical brain analysis), particularly related to movement disorders. His research focuses on investigating the neural, sensory and motor adaptations in gait and posture in people with PD. Additionally, his lab implements rehabilitation and training programs aimed at enhancing and restoring mobility in neurological populations.
