Felicia Quintana-Zinn has worked for Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for seven years is currently the deputy director of public health, overseeing epidemiology, informatics and vital records units. During her time with the department, she has acted as the drug overdose prevention epidemiologist and injury epidemiologist, overseeing the Office of Injury Surveillance. The units she currently manages collect and provide health data to the Nebraska DHHS and to agencies and organizations in Nebraska and the U.S. This health data includes laboratory, hospitalization, health behaviors and outcomes survey, public health surveillance data for a variety of health conditions and Nebraska’s vital records, and it provides public health surveillance systems technology support. Felicia Quintana-Zinn’s focus areas include modernization of public health data systems, including the Parkinson’s Disease Registry, and utilization of public health data to give providers, communities, researchers and the public information to make informed health-related decisions.
