Dr. Dukes is director of discovery medicine within the Academic Discovery Performance Unit, Research and Development, Glaxo Smith Kline where he has directed the development of several experimental drugs for various gastrointestinal disorders. He currently leads the early stage development of GSK962040 for the treatment of gastrointestinal motility disorders. Prior to joining GSK, he was professor and department chairman at the School of Pharmacy, University of Maryland and professor at the University of North Carolina with research interests in clinical pharmacology and experimental medicine. He has served on the Gastrointestinal Drugs FDA Advisory Panel.
