Jason D. Flatt, PhD, MPH is an assistant professor of social and behavioral health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, School of Public Health. His research focuses on better understanding the needs of LGBTQIA+ people with Parkinson’s disease, as well as the concerns of their chosen families and care providers. He has expertise in community-based participatory research and in social and behavioral health research. For the past 13 years, Dr. Flatt has leveraged his platform as a public health researcher to work as an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, and he has partnered with the LGBT Center of Southern Nevada, SAGE Advocacy and Services for LGBTQ elders, CenterLink, Los Angeles LGBT Center Senior Services, interACT and Openhouse. Dr. Flatt’s work has been received recognition by NPR, U.S. News and World Report, The Advocate, Newsweek and the Alzheimer's Association. His research is described at www.RainbowsofAging.org.
