Dr. Jayashree Kalpathy-Cramer is chief of the Division of Artificial Medical Intelligence and the endowed chair in data sciences in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She has worked in data science with a focus on artificial intelligence and medical imaging locally, nationally and internationally. Her research spans the spectrum from novel algorithm development to clinical deployment, with applications in radiology, oncology and ophthalmology. Dr. Kalpathy-Cramer graduated from IIT Bombay, India, and received her PhD in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She returned to academia after almost a decade in the semiconductor industry, and she has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and a dozen book chapters. Her research has been funded by the NIH, NSF and the EU. She is passionate about using AI and machine learning to improve access to healthcare in the U.S. and worldwide.
