Dr. Jens R. Nyengaard is the head of the Core Centre for Molecular Morphology at the Department of Clinical Medicine of Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. Dr. Nyengaard obtained his MD at Aarhus University in 1989. After completing his residency, he joined the Diabetes and Vascular Research Laboratory at Washington University in St Louis. He was appointed full professor at Aarhus University in 2008. His research unit specializes in histopathology, molecular labeling methods, advanced microscopy, stereology/image analyses/deep learning, spatial transcriptomics and related expertise in cell and tissue analysis. Dr. Nyengaard has authored more than 390 publications with the applications of quantitative methods in neuroscience, biomedicine and clinical medicine. The scientific goals and strategic portfolio of the Nyengaard lab encompass the discovery and translational research in human pathologies including novel solutions for the neuroscience community.
