Joseph W. Harding, PhD is professor of pharmacology, neuroscience, biotechnology, biochemistry, and psychology at Washington State University. He received a PhD in chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1974 and completed postdoctoral training in neurochemistry at the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology. In 1976, he joined the faculty at Washington State University in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Harding was a Fogarty fellow and Established Investigator of the American Heart Association. He has served on several NIH study sections and published more than 200 peer reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters. His research focus is in the areas of neurodegenerative disease and cognitive function, cancer, and wound repair. His technical expertise is as a peptide chemist, pharmacologist, and cell biologist. In addition he has founded two biotechnology companies with Dr. John Wright that focus on the development of small molecule modifiers of growth factor systems.
