Josh Woolley, MD/PhD, is an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), director of the UCSF translational psychedelic research (TrPR) program and staff physician at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. His research focuses on potential treatments for symptoms of serious mental illnesses. Dr. Woolley has had a program of clinical research in psychopharmacology since 2007 and has led pharmacological clinical trials focused on depression, schizophrenia, PTSD and substance use disorders. He has served as site principal investigator on two multicenter Phase 2 pivotal psychedelic trials. As director of the TrPR program, he leads a multidisciplinary group of scientists and clinicians conducting psychedelic trials with the goal of accelerating development of novel treatments focused on multiple clinical populations including PD, bipolar depression and chronic pain.
