Dr. Wang received his PhD in neuropharmacology from The University of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium, 1996. Dr. Wang completed his postdoctoral fellowship training at University of Ottawa, Canada, and University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. In 2004, he was appointed a research scientist and then a research assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of University of Southern California. In 2008, he moved to The Department of Pathology, University Mississippi Medical Center as an assistant professor. Dr. Wang’s original and collaborative research, published in 38 manuscripts, has focused on the transcriptional regulation of gene expression and the role of gene expression on CNS development, neurogenesis and neurodegenerative disease prevention, as well as the translation of the discoveries into therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer’s disease, menopausal related depression, and Parkinson’s disease.
