Kelly Dakin received her PhD in neurobiology from Harvard in 2011, where her research focused on age-associated changes in gene expression that make the human brain vulnerable to neurodegeneration. In addition to her broad scientific interest in neurodegeneration, Kelly is also passionate about how scientific information is stored, communicated and consumed, and how technology can facilitate knowledge discovery. These interests led Kelly to join Alzforum as a database curator in 2011, where she works on a range of scientific resources on the website (alzforum.org). At Alzforum, she works on data management and curation, with a focus on developing Alzforum's databases on pre-clinical models, mutations and biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease. Kelly graduated summa cum laude from Bowdoin College in 2002, with a major in neuroscience.
