Dr. Laurent Dubois works in the Aging Department at Sanofi as a project team leader and is based in Chilly-Mazarin near Paris, France. Dr. Dubois has a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Paris XI and worked for three years in the Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles of Gif sur Yvette, led by Nobel prize winner Sir D. Barton, where he learned multi-step chemical synthesis. He has a masters degree from the University of Rouen and an engineering degree from the Institut National Supérieur de Chimie Industrielle de Rouen. After two years of post-doctoral studies in H. Kagan's team at the University of Orsay, where he worked in the field of catalytic asymmetric reactions, he joined Synthelabo in 1995, which then merged with Sanofi. Dr. Dubois has worked as a medicinal chemist on various projects targeting treatments for central nervous system diseases, such as sleep disorders, anxiety, neurodegeneration, schizophrenia and pain, for 18 years. He is now leading a multidisciplinary team of researchers on projects of diseases linked to aging. Dr. Dubois is author of several journal articles and patent applications.
