Dr. Longfei Wang is a postdoctoral fellow in Melanie Bahlo’s lab at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI). She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees on statistics and her PhD degree on bioinformatics in 2019 in Seoul National University. Dr Wang focuses on developing novel statistical methods and bioinformatics tools that facilitate genetic sequencing data analysis, applying these methods to publicly available data as well as locally recruited cohorts. She also seeks to identify genetic risk factors in neurological and immunodeficiency disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia, using genomic-driven approaches. Her current research interests include: mitochondrial DNA copy number estimation, rare variant association study and genome-wide association study with a focus on autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders, Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
