Martin E. Sanders, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Chicago; served as an intern and resident in Internal Medicine at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis; and completed three post-doctoral fellowships: in Allergy/Clinical Immunology at the NIAID/NIH, in rheumatology at Johns Hopkins Medical School, and in cancer immunology at the Immunology Branch of the NCI/NIH. He is board certified in internal medicine, allergy/clinical immunology, and rheumatology.
Dr. Sanders' career has spanned 30+ years including basic research, drug discovery research, product development research, patient care, senior officer positions at multiple companies, venture capital partnership, and membership on multiple for-profit and non-profit boards. He is a co-founder of Io Therapeutics, and currently serves as its board chairman and chief executive officer.
