Dr. D’Andrea is Coriell’s director of neuroscience where he is the principal investigator (PI) and co-principal investigator of MJFF’s LRRK2 and PPMI programs, respectively; and is the PI for the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke Human Genetics Resource Center. Prior to joining Coriell, Michael was the target validation team leader at J&J’s Pharma R&D. He has over thirty years of scientific experience consisting of basic, clinical, -pharmaceutical and commercial applications with a broad-based histopathological background spanning many therapeutic areas and expertise in the development of in vivo and in vitro assays and the advancement of compounds. Michael also has experience in the pre-clinical & translational medicine areas that concern toxicological investigations as well as the deployment of biomarkers for clinical evaluations. Michael received his MS and PhD in cell and developmental biology from Rutger’s University, and has over 95 publications that include peer-reviewed articles, invited reviews and book chapter contributions and 11 patents.
