Dr. Michelle Hyczy de Siqueira Tosin has spent more than 15 years as a nurse and researcher dedicated to patient-centered interdisciplinary care for people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and other movement disorders. Motivated to better understand what really matters to patients and their care partners, in 2019 she left Brazil and came to the United States to improve her expertise in Clinical Assessment Outcomes (COA). Since then, she has been involved in clinimetric studies for the development of COA that require the development of specific theoretical, methodological and statistical skills to implement qualitative and quantitative research methods. Having acquired these skills, Dr. Tosin was accepted as a postdoctoral fellow at Rush University and appointed vice chair of the Movement Disorder Society (MDS) COA Scientific Review Committee and a member of the MDS-COA Translation Steering Committee.
