Nathalie Compagnone, PhD, is the inventor of the Mitostream® technology. She has full expertise in system biology, cell biology and morphometric analysis and her experience in algorithm derivations from biostatistical models has led to the identification of several applications of the Mitostream® technology in predictive toxicology and in the modeling of neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and, more recently, Parkinson’s disease. Trained in neuroscience, Dr. Compagnone has worked in regenerative medicine as an academic researcher prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry. There she headed a pre-clinical program on Huntington’s disease and specialized in the generation of patient-derived cell models, using mitochondria behavior as a readout. She used her expertise to start Innovative Concepts in Drug Development, a company dedicated to facilitating drug development in neurodegenerative diseases. She heads a team of young scientists who are experts in the mitochondrion, in massively parallel technologies and in bioinformatics.
