Patrick C. May, PhD received a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 1982. After a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Caleb E. Finch in neurogerontology at the Andrus Gerontology Center of the University of Southern California, he joined Eli Lilly and Co. as a research scientist in 1989. He has risen through the scientific and management ranks and now holds the title of senior research fellow in the neurodegenerative diseases drug hunting team. Dr. May has more than twenty years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is a committed drug hunter with a successful track record of delivering multiple high quality clinical candidates. His research interests primarily have been in Alzheimer’s disease, but recently his interests have expanded to include the study of novel targets to treat Parkinson’s disease.
