Pedro Renato de Paula Brandão, MD, PhD, works as a neurologist at the Chamber of Deputies and at Hospital Sírio Libanês (Brasília). He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Brasília, with a medical residency held at Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. He conducted a fellowship in movement disorders at Hospital de Base do Distrito Federal, Federal District Health Department, where he coordinated the Reference Center for Movement Disorders. He was President of the Federal District Chapter of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology (2018-2019). He has scientific experience in the field of cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging and movement disorders, with an emphasis in Parkinson's disease. He is a founding member of the Brasilia Movement Disorders Study Group (GETMov), and collaborates in the Research Center for Major Themes at the University of Brasília.
