Rina Bandopadhyay, PhD

After completing her Masters degree in physiology and microbiology in India, Dr. Bandopadhyay travelled to UK where she completed her PhD in neuroscience in 1995 at the University of London. She then joined University College London (UCL) as a post-doctoral research fellow and worked on a project on thyroid hormone and brain maturation. In 1998, she joined the Reta Lila Weston Institute of Neurological Studies, UCL Institute of Neurology. Currently she is an assistant professor and her research focus for the last 12 years has been on the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease and fronto-temporal dementias.
