Dr. Cherny trained in neuroendocrinology in Melbourne Australia and currently holds an appointment as associate professor at The University of Melbourne. With over 70 published articles, his research interests center on the role of metal-mediated oxidative processes in neurodegenerative diseases with particular emphasis on translation of basic research into commercially viable therapies. Complementing his role as head of research at Prana, Dr. Cherny supervises a laboratory at The Mental Health Research Institute, The University of Melbourne, pursuing basic research into the biomolecular bases of common neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
