Sandy Stayte, PhD, completed her undergraduate degree in advanced science at the University of New South Wales, Australia, where she was awarded First Class Honors and the Winifred Dickes Rost Prize for placing first in the Department of Anatomy for her research investigating the role of glutamate receptors in Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Stayte completed her PhD at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where she identified the potential of kainate receptor subunits in the survival of the nigrostriatal system in pre-clinical models of Parkinson’s disease.
