Stanislav Dusko Ehrlich, PhD, was trained as organic chemist at University of Zagreb, Croatia and was awarded a PhD in Biochemistry from University Paris VII, France. He was a research associate of Nobel Laureate Dr. Joshua Lederberg at the Stanford University Medical school,  and also Research Director at the Institut National pour la Recherche Medicale (INSERM) and Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA, now INRAE). He founded and directed the Microbiology Division of INRA and a Microbial Genetics Unit within the division. His research interests since 2005 are in human microbiome, and he coordinated the first large European Commission Human microbiome project, MetaHIT. He is currently PI of the French Investissement d’Avenir microbiome project Metagenopolis.

Dr. Ehrlick holds an H index of 84 and is a member of EMBO, Croatian Academy of Sciences & Arts, French Academy of Agriculture, American and European Academies of Microbiology. He is Chevalier de l’Ordre de Mérite et de la Légion d’Honneur.
