Dr. Seshadri is the Founding Director of the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio. She completed her MD in Internal Medicine and her DM in Neurology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She completed a Residency in Neurology at the Boston Medical Center and received fellowship training in Neurology from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and in Neuroepidemiology from the Framingham Heart Study. She has been an investigator at the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) since 1988 and currently leads the FHS Clinical Neurology Core and the Neurogenetics Core. Her overarching interests are in identifying the biological and molecular pathways, both vascular and neurodegenerative that lead to dementia, identifying genetic, blood-based, clinical and imaging biomarkers that determine risk and parse disease heterogeneity. This could help develop, test and implement more effective, personalized (targeted) preventive and therapeutic interventions.
