Dr. Stewart received her PhD from the University of Washington in 2011. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Jing Zhang in the Department of Pathology at the University of Washington. Her research interests are centered on using a range of strategies, including electrophysiological and proteomic techniques, to understand the short- and long-term consequences of insults to the brain. Current work focuses on identifying objective biomarkers for diagnosing Parkinson’s disease, and understanding the roles that key proteins play in the mechanisms of disease origin and progression.
