Tobias Bäumer is a movement disorder specialist and a clinical and experimental neurophysiologist. He is the deputy head of the Clinical Section Center of Rare Diseases Institute of System Motor Science Lübeck, Germany and leader of the neurophysiological laboratory. He was trained at the University of Hamburg by Achim Liepert and Alexander Münchau in the field of experimental neurophysiology of the motor system in individuals with movement disorders. His scientific focus is on the connectivity and plasticity of the human sensorimotor system using techniques like transcranial magnetic stimulation, with a special emphasis on monogenic Parkinson and dystonia syndromes. He has undertaken multiple neurophysiological studies and published his work in more than 134 peer-reviewed publications.
