After being awarded a young investigator grant from the Swedish Research Council in 2013,
Dr. Deierborg started the experimental neuroinflammation laboratory at Lund University in Sweden. Dr. Deierborg is currently supervising three PhD student and three Master students working in his lab.
The goal of Dr. Deierborg’s research is to understand the role of microglia function in neurodegenerative diseases. His recent studies have identified new inflammatory mechanisms in the brain of individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
