Valentina Straniero received her PhD in 2013 from the University of Milan, where she focused in both medicinal and organic chemistry. After completing postdoctoral studies in organic chemistry at the University of Pavia, she was hired as a specialist in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2014, Dr. Straniero returned to Milan as a postdoctoral fellow and then as an assistant professor, working on the development of bioactive molecules, including receptor antagonists, anticancer agents, antibacterial agents, and other compounds as drugs for modifying Parkinson’s disease. Her education and professional roles have been focused on the design and development of synthetic pathways for obtaining structurally different molecules. In addition, Dr. Straniero managed the diverse research projects of the laboratory, setting up national and international collaborations with important research groups in the field of medicinal chemistry.
