Vanessa Hinson, MD, PhD is currently an associate professor of neurology and director of movement disorders at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Hinson is also the chief of neurology at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Dr. Hinson received her MD/PhD degree from the University of Hamburg, Germany. She completed her internship and neurology residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina and a clinical and research fellowship in movement disorders at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Hinson has an active clinical practice, but is also the principal investigator on several clinical trials related to the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and dystonia.
