Dr. Adil Bharucha is a gastroenterologist and a clinician-investigator with a keen interest in gastrointestinal motility disorders, particularly pelvic floor disorders, chronic constipation and diabetic gastroenteropathy. He is driven by a singular focus on doing better for individuals whose symptoms and insights provide the impetus for his research, including people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) who suffer from chronic constipation. At Mayo Clinic, he is the medical director of the Office of Clinical Trials and a member of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science Executive Committee. He is currently chair of the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Section of the American Gastroenterological Association, a member of the editorial board of the journal Neurogastroenterology and Motility and a member of the Rome V Committee on Anorectal Disorders.
