Hansoo Yoo is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania who uses clinical imaging methods and preclinical models to address the following questions: (1) How are the same pathological alpha-synuclein aggregates associated with distinct clinical synucleinopathies, for example Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies and multiple system atrophy? (2) How does Alzheimer’s disease co-pathology have independent and interactive effects on Lewy body disease (including PD and dementia with Lewy bodies)? (3) Why do pathological protein aggregates (including alpha-synuclein, beta-amyloid and tau) have unique initiation sites and spreading connectome?
