Julie Zissimopoulos, PhD, is a professor at the Sol Price School of Public Policy and director of the Aging and Cognition Research Program at the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics at the University of Southern California. She is principal investigator of two NIA-funded Centers, the Resource Center for Minority Aging Research and the Center for Advancing Sociodemographic and Economic Study of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. Dr. Zissimopoulos’ research addresses racial/ethnic disparities in access to pharmaceutical treatments and care, caregiver burden, diagnosis and detection of dementia and health care costs. Dr. Zissimopoulos contributes the perspective of an empirical economist with experience in health economics, labor economics and econometrics with an applied, multidisciplinary team science approach. Her expertise includes applying dynamic microsimulation models in the analysis of dementia, aging and health-related quality of life.
