Xin Qi, PhD, received her BS in clinical pharmacy from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University of China in 1999 and her PhD in pharmacology from Hokkaido University of Japan in 2005. She conducted her post-doctoral work at Stanford University between 2005 and 2011. Dr. Qi has been an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine since 2011.

Dr. Qi's research interest focuses on understanding the role of mitochondrial (powerhouses of the cell) dysfunction in the pathogenesis of neurological diseases, including Parkinson's disease, and developing therapeutic strategies for treatment of these disorders.
